antithesis

ANTITHESIS
meaning: a person or thing that is the direct opposite of someone or something else.
why is it used?

antithesis is used to strengthen an argument or statement by bringing to contradicting ideas together. this usually makes the sentence more memorable and powerful for example.

  • "In peace, you are for war, and in war, you long for peace."
  • Give every man thy ear, but few thy voice.
  • Many are called, but few are chosen

my examples:
to the world I am nothing, to me I am everything
